I had a great video of the two of them, but Nate deleted that as soon as he could get his hands on it. J Sunday was church all morning followed by naptime. While the kids took a snooze, Haley and I spent some quality time together and went to Sonic for a slushie and Kmart to get a sprinkler seen it was so hot out (again). So after nap we tried out the new sprinkler and filled up the kiddie pool.
After all the fun outside, Haley and Gunner tried their hand at finger painting (pun intended). They made beautiful decorations and had fun so it was a win-win for everyone.
Monday Nate had to go back to work so it was just the kids and I. We headed to the park (actually two parks, one in the morning and one in the evening).
It was another stifling hot day, so the middle of the day was spent inside. Gunner and Haley had fun playing hide and seek. As you can see from the picture, Gunner cannot stand to stay hidden very long.
It was pretty funny to watch him try to find Haley and to watch him hide for about 2 seconds. J Plus, Grace enjoys watching them run up and down the hallway. Today was projected to be another muggy day so we headed to Wilmington to check out their Children’s Museum. It was well worth the hour and a half drive. Everything was hands on (which is always great with the little ones).
Grace loved the toddler room with foam mats and tons of toys. She also took a liking to the mirror, which I thought was adorable.
They had so many fun things. I took a ton of pictures, but don’t have time to upload them all. So here are a few highlights. Gunner loved the racecar ramp (I told Nate we should build one at home).
They had an art and craft area with water colors, scissors, glue, crayons, and a sensory table filled with dry beans (I need to remember that idea for at home). Haley and Gunner had a blast. Grace wasn’t able to participate because she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.
They also had a ‘pirate area’ with a giant ship to play on, a pretend cannon, a camp area, boats, a little sand area… so much stuff. Here are a few cute snapshots of the boats they played on and the camping area.
Needless to say, by the time we left, the kids were zonked! All three napped on the drive home, which was fantastic!
The rest of the day we just laid low, but nobody seemed to mind too much. I did manage to catch this great moment of Nate with kids. I love catching them spending quality time together so I had to run and grab the camera. J What a great way to end a busy day.
