Extra Days of Togetherness

For those that didn't hear, we were lucky enough to receive a few extra days together this week.  Nate was originally scheduled to leave on Thursday but due to weather it got reschedule not once, but twice.  Any military wife knows that is bitter sweet.  You love the extra time together, but you kind of get in a mind set of saying goodbye and accepting the reality that comes along with that.  But, it was a blessing!  The past week has flown by (time has a way of doing that when you want it to go slow).  :)  I'm going to break this blog post into two parts because it is giving me trouble with uploading the pictures.

Just a forewarning, most of these pictures are Nate and the kids because I was a picture Nazi all week trying to get as many pictures as I could of them together. On Tuesday, it was so nice outside that Gunner and Nate enjoyed some much needed playtime outside. It was so cute to listen to them through the screen door as they were playing. I got a few cute pictures, but this one is my favorite (they were making silly faces).

Later that night, we decided to rent Cars 2 and watch it before the kids went to bed. The three of them were so cute cuddled up on the couch. Needless to say, the kids didn't make it more than 30 minutes before they were ready to bed, but Nate and I enjoyed the movie. :)

Wednesday morning, we woke up to some VERY exciting news...

We are expecting baby #3!!!! I am just barely pregnant (only about 5 1/2 weeks along) but seen Nate is leaving on deployment we wanted to share the good news with everyone before we had to leave. Gunner is so cute as we try to tell him there's a baby in mommy's tummy (he keeps thinking the baby is in my belly button). :)

Nate had to work a few hours each morning, but the kids were ecstatic when he would finally make it home. Here they are wrestling him shortly after he walked through the door.

And I was able to snap a super cute picture of Grace and Nate (by far one of my favorites).

Originally we though Thursday was deployment day, so when we received the news that it was going to be Saturday, we had two more days to squeeze in extra fun. We went to a really cute hamburger and shake place one night (Gunner was obsessed with the ketchup bottle, but it was entertaining).

And Gunner and Grace wanted to do everything possible with daddy including helping him put stuff into the attic.

Playing on the floor.

And exploring dog tags (Nate made Gunner his own, but they weren't as cool as daddy's were).

Helping daddy in the shed

They were inseperable, but it was precious.  Well, that's where I'm gonna cut off for tonight's blog.  The picture uploader is giving me trouble and I need to get some sleep.  I'll try to blog tomorrow about the last couple days.  So stay tuned!

  2. Finally had time to catch up on your blog (well, I only had the last 2 to "catch up" on, but that felt like a lot to me!) What's your due date? Hope you are feeling well and adjusting alright. Thinking of you!
